Given as I am a history teacher, and posted a podcast containing an account from a WWI veteran, I found this article, and indeed the project, of interest. Dick Diener, in order to promote local history and remember the service of veterans, had his class research local monuments and the names veterans. The culminating activity was a 12 part podcast detailing those monuments and veterans.
